  • 2015 APS Scores on SAT and ACT Continue to Rise
    Arlington’s average combined SAT scores continued to rise in 2015, rising 27 points higher than in 2014. These scores are also 147 points higher than the 2015 average score for Virginia students and 190 points higher than the national SAT average. Overall, in the last five years, APS SAT scores increased by 18 points in reading, 16 points in writing, and 18 points in math. (More)

  • APS Welcomes Students Back to School
    Summer is winding down and the 2015-16 school year starts on Tue, Sept. 8. Arlington Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Pat Murphy and the entire APS community are ready to welcome students back-to-school. This week, Dr. Murphy recorded a welcome back video message for families. (More)

  • APS seeks Feedback on Personal Learning Device Handbook
    APS developed a handbook to address parent and staff questions regarding the personalized learning initiative. Please take a moment to read over the draft and provide your comments so that we can be sure we are addressing the needs of our stakeholders.     Today, the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) released 2015 SOL results for all public school divisions and schools. Arlington Public Schools (APS) students continue to pass the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) tests at higher rates than their peers across Virginia. (More)

    Arlington Public Schools is pleased to announce the start of its CrossingGuard® School Bus Stop Arm Safety Camera Program. Starting this week, cameras will be capturing images of vehicles that fail to stop for an extended school bus stop arm. (More)
